First Day

Instructions

Welcome to TruWest Credit Union! In order to ensure the on-boarding process is a smooth one, below is a list of instructions and helpful tips for your first day:

  1. Please be sure to bring your I-9 proof of citizenship on your first day. Examples of your options are enclosed in this packet. Please note: we do not accept laminated documents.

If you have any questions before your first day, please give Human Resources a call to ensure you bring the correct documents with you. There is a 72 hour window for E-Verify submittal, so these documents must be presented on your first day!

  2. Please bring a voided check or deposit slip from your banking institution that displays the routing and account number(s) with you on your first day. Our pay periods are bi-weekly and we request everyone signs up for Direct Deposit, as there is a $7.23 charge for a live check.
  3. Full-time employees will have the option to sign up for first day benefits, including Medical, Dental, Vision (Vision is paid for by TruWest if you enroll in Medical), FSA, HSA and Voluntary Life Insurance. This will be done utilizing our HRIS System “Ultipro” on your first day.
  4. Information on our 401(k) Retirement Plan is also enclosed. Full-time and part-time employees are eligible for this benefit on their first day. Sentinel Benefits, our Plan Administrator, has created three funds for TruWest: Conservative, Balanced and Growth, to tailor to your retirement needs. You can also select your own funds, should you wish to do so. Be sure to read the highlighted area below as it contains very important information. Employees are encouraged to elect a contribution amount on their first day, however you may elect to not contribute as well.

If you do not elect or decline benefits with Sentinel Benefits on your first day, you will automatically be enrolled with a 6% contribution rate. This contribution will start on your first paycheck and will process bi-weekly until you change your elections.

  5. FSA (Flexible Spending Account) and HSA (Health Savings Account) is optional. If you are interested in signing up for the Flexible Spending Account or Health Savings Account, please let Human Resources know on your first day. You have 30 days from your date of hire to complete and submit this form.
  6. If you will be adding dependent(s) and/or beneficiaries, you will need to bring their social security numbers and dates of birth with you on your first day.
